We are Thomas Lettier and Kenneth Balthazor, your website hosts. We are natives to the San Francisco East Bay Area and
have been friendly neighbors for over 25 years. We have enjoyed many camping trips, cabin stays, even boat outtings for
the chance of collecting throughout this State. We have traveled thousands of miles on California's interstates and freeways,
highways, byways, and skyways: From the Pacific to the Sierras, from low desert to high: Oceans, lakes, rivers, streams and
creeks: On mountain logging roads, animal paths and railroad tracks. (Whew!) That's a lot of traveling! All of this has led
to a continually growing California Collection of well documented minerals that we enjoy sharing with friends
and family. By the power of the internet we are able to share our California Gem and Mineral Collection
with many people from all over the World. We hope you will take a few minutes and have a look at some of our extensive and
uncomparable collection of California's gems and minerals offered for purchase.
What is not
well known is that almost every mineral, in some form or another, occurs someplace in California. The only problem is that
many of these ordinary to exotic minerals, are no longer accessible to field collection due to exhaustive mining, commercial
development, natural erosion, over-collecting, or land reclamation. However, there is still stock material available from
some of those historic or undocumented collecting localities. We are from families of California mineral collectors,
collecting here since the 1950's. The amassed megaton totality of rocks from field collecting has resulted in a
shoebox shantytown complex in the overloaded garage and basement.
You could go to dealers who offer
mineral specimens from states such as New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Arkansas to countries like China, Pakistan,
Brazil and Russia, but for California Gem and Mineral Specimens, why look any further than this extensive collection right
here? Please continue enjoying our site by selecting the link at the bottom of this page, enjoy!
Sincerely,
Thomas
